Beginning this week, our Cambodian Tasting Journey travels to Ratanakiri Province, a breathtaking region in northeastern Cambodia known for its volcanic lakes, lush forests, Indigenous communities, rich red earth, and incredible natural beauty. Every province has its own story, and every menu is our way of preserving it.

At Khmai, we invite you to discover Cambodia through food. Each tasting journey is inspired by a different province, allowing you to experience the flavors, traditions, and history that make every region unique. This is more than a seven-course dinner it's a chance to travel across Cambodia without ever leaving Chicago.

As the first and only authentic Cambodian tasting journey in the United States, every menu is thoughtfully created to honor traditional recipes while showcasing the ingredients, techniques, and stories that have shaped Cambodian cuisine for generations.

Our restaurant, Khmai, was built as a tribute to our Executive Chef’s mother and her heritage. The name is a blend of "Khmer", representing the Cambodian language and culture, and "Mai", meaning "mother." It symbolizes the deep cultural roots and personal story that drive everything we do.
